Quality Assurance:

Our Standards
Crossroads Care Cheshire East provides services for carers and people with care needs in accordance with our charitable objectives.

As a scheme member of Crossroads Care Association our services are compliant with the internal system of quality assurance – CROQUET, Crossroads Quality Evaluation Tool. Association auditors regularly audit the scheme to ensure that services continue to meet a high standard and schemes have sound strategic plans for future development.

We have undergone a level 2/3 CROQUET audit and we progressed from level 1 to level 3 – the highest level achievable.

The scheme is also inspected by the Commission for Social Care Inspection who assess to ensure that services are meeting the needs of those who use them. Our Inspection Report is available online at www.cqc.org.uk or please contact our office to request a copy.

Best practice is key to all we do. We achieved an ‘excellent outcome’ as a result of our recent CSCI inspection. ECC received no recommendations from CSCI or statutory requirements.

Staff Development
Crossroads Care Cheshire East is committed to continuing staff development and improving the quality of care provided to those receiving a service. We have an ongoing programme of National Vocational Qualifications and it is mandatory for all staff to be registered for an NVQ level II course within 6 months of joining Crossroads Care Cheshire East.

However, our staff say that the most valuable training they receive is the practical training gained whilst working with our carers. It is essential that support staff are guided by the carers knowledge and needs of their loved one.

Comments from an NVQ Assessor
In October 2006 I commenced NVQ Health & Social Care training with the staff at East Cheshire Crossroads. During the underpinning knowledge training sessions and observation of the staff, I found everyone highly motivated and eager to learn. I am aware of the vast amount of training courses the staff attend which has supported their NVQ and been demonstrated in the practice at the workplace to very high standard. All specialist training that is required to ensure quality care has been given prior to the staff going out to the clients home.

….. I have been impressed by the high standards of care given to the clients in their homes.

The Carers Evaluation
Each year CCCE send a Carers Evaluation to all Carers receiving our services and those who have ceased using it within the last twelve months. This is an opportunity for Carers to tell us what they think of the service we provide and how we can improve and develop services for the future to ensure we maintain our high standards.
