Are you a Carer:
Every year 2 million people become carers. No one is super human and all carers need some support.

Recognise that you are a carer
Many people do not recognise they are a carer straightaway. They simply see their caring responsibilities as an extension of their role as partner, family member, friend or neighbour. Carers give their time unconditionally and often forget to look after themselves.
Looking after yourself is important
Caring for someone can affect many areas of your life. You may have been caring for someone for some time or have assumed caring responsibilities recently, either way it is likely that you are caring out of love, friendship or duty. This does not mean that it will be easy, caring is hard work and you have needs of your own. Caring responsibilities can affect many aspects of life, financial, emotional and physical and may also have a negative impact on your social life.
Whatever your situation you should not have to cope on your own. Crossroads Care Cheshire East offers a range of services designed to share your caring responsibilities. Visit our service pages for more information. In addition, the Useful Links page offers contact information regarding organisations offering help and advice to carers.
