Celebrating Change
From August 1 2009 Crossroads network adopted a new name and a new look. The new name is Crossroads Care. It is a subtle difference but it says more about what we actually do without losing the Crossroads element which means high quality care to those who know us.

New name for Crossroads
Crossroads is now called Crossroads Care, a simple change that points to what they do so well. More carers turn to Crossroads Care than to any other social care provider. The new name and marketing mission, their care quality standards and their continuing focus on people not profit, will help more carers and the people they care for, find the peace of mind they need.
Carers get a helping hand from Esther Rantzen
Childline founder Esther Rantzen is getting behind social care by supporting the re launch of carer support charity – Crossroads Care. “There are an astonishing six million carers in this country, many of them school age children. When they reach a point at which they can no longer cope on their own, they need to know where to find help they can trust.”
Crossroads Care has over one hundred, independent local schemes across England and Wales. They are expanding their services to meet the growing demand for carer support but without compromising the service quality for which they are widely admired.
“We’re re launching ourselves” says Anne Roberts (Chief Executive of Crossroads Care Association) “we need to be clearer about what we do and make sure that more carers and the people they support know about us. We’ve never had to market ourselves before, but now we do, so we’re raising our profile with a new look, a new name …… Crossroads Care …… and a new energy in our communication, hugely helped by Esther”.
Trustee Runs for Crossroads
David Arthur, a trustee from Cheshire East Crossroads, recently ran the London marathon to raise funds for Crossroads. David, a GP from Knutsford has raised a fantastic amount in sponsorship with the total currently standing at £1800. We would like to say a huge thank you and well done to David on behalf of everyone at Crossroads.

If you or anyone you know would like to raise money for us by running a marathon or completing a challenge please give Kate a ring on 01260 292850

Cheshire East Crossroads has moved to Congleton
March 2009
Cheshire East Crossroads (CEC) has a new address – in Congleton!
Following the merger of Cheshire East Crossroads and the Congleton Borough, Crewe and Nantwich area of South Cheshire Crossroads it quickly became apparent that the new scheme would be able to develop more effectively with the whole team under one roof.
With one office in Sandbach and one in Macclesfield, a new location was needed in the centre of our new area of operation. After much thought and consideration and, taking into account the location of the majority of clients and staff, it was decided that Congleton would be the preferred choice. The town could provide a convenient base for staff and clients and is familiar territory as Crossroads already supports carers in the borough.
With a new location decided upon, the next challenge was to find suitable premises. These came in the form of Overton House on West Street. Thanks to a huge amount of support from the owners, Alan Wilde and Andy Sayle, Cheshire East Crossroads is now operational in premises that will provide a base for all staff and also offer the potential to become a valuable support centre for carers and the people they look after.
Our aim is to create a real community space, using the ground floor accommodation to develop and expand group activities and also offer opportunities to other third sector partners in the area. Overton House will provide a focal point for carers services, a place for carers and the people they care for to access help and support. We will be actively seeking to involve ourselves in the local and wider community and encourage people to drop in for information about our services.
Andrea Kinsey, Chief Executive, says ‘this is an exciting time for Crossroads and we are very much looking forward to becoming a valued addition to the community of Congleton, whilst continuing our work throughout Cheshire East. We will be opening the doors of Overton House as soon as we have settled in and will be delighted to welcome visitors who would like to know more about how Crossroads supports carers'.
Our new address is:
Overton House
West Street
Congleton
Cheshire
CW12 1JY
Tel 01260 292850
Fax 01260 292851
Involvement from the community is essential to ensure we can continue to support carers as fully as possible. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Overton House, either on a permanent or temporary basis, do please give us a ring.
All Change for East Cheshire Crossroads!
January 2009
East Cheshire Crossroads Caring for Carers has been successfully delivering support services to carers for 18 years. Following news of a reorganisation of local government, the four Crossroads schemes in Cheshire came to a decision that it would be sensible and appropriate to restructure in order to reflect the new areas of Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester.
Therefore, from January 1st, East Cheshire Crossroads merged with part of South Cheshire Crossroads in order to provide one scheme providing high quality support services to all carers in the new Cheshire East Unitary Council area.
This scheme is now known as
Cheshire East Crossroads (CEC)
A similar merger has taken place to provide equity of service across the West resulting in a new scheme – Cheshire West and Wirral Crossroads Caring for Carers.
These are exciting times as we work hard to develop an ever increasing portfolio of services to support all those who care for a relative, friend or neighbour. All management and staff will be working hard to ensure there will be no change to services currently provided by both schemes.
Now the merger is complete we are confident that service users will see a significant benefit as larger, more cohesive schemes will pave the way for the development of new services, increased delivery of care and new opportunities for Crossroads staff.
If you would like more information about recent developments or would like to work for Cheshire East Crossroads, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01260 292850
