CAMEO: Come And Meet Each Other

CAMEO is a support group for people in the early stages of dementia, particularly younger people. The group offers the opportunity to meet others and enjoy leisure activities whilst allowing the carer to have a break.

The group meets on one Thursday each month between 11am and 3pm.

CAMEO has a full programme of organised activities based on the ideas and preferences of group members.The CAMEO group have recently enjoyed pub lunches and countryside walks. Outings have included visits to Harry Lawson Court for race days, bingo and games. In addition, a favourite which has become a regular fixture is a trip on the Mary Sunley canal boat.

The CAMEO group is well established and has been running successfully for a number of years. The following quote reflects that success:
