A day for carers will be taking place at Crewe Alexander Football Club in Carers Week. Come along during the day to find out more about the services offered to carers in Cheshire East, including the help and support you could receive.
There will be displays and stands from local organisations in the market place area and a series of workshops you can attend. Tea and coffee will be served throughout the day.

Alsager Golf Club supports Crossroads Care
Crossroads Care Cheshire East is delighted that Bev King, this years Lady Captain at Alsager Golf and Country Club has chosen CCCE as her charity of the year.
“I have nominated Crossroads Care as the chosen charity for my year in office as Lady Captain at Alsager Golf and Country Club. Throughout the year our ladies section will be organising fundraising events for this very worthwhile cause. Our first event on 1st May was the traditional Captains’ Drive Off. The incoming Captain and Lady Captain both drive off with the old styled hickory shafted wood to celebrate and the members guess how far the drives will be. We raised £178 on the night and this amount will be split between Crossroads Care and the Captains chosen charity, which this year is St Lukes Hospice.
Each year the Club holds a charity AM-AM golf competition, which is open to all golfers. This year’s competition will be held on Sunday 12th September and teams of 4 are welcome from both gents and ladies. It is a great day out and teams cost £150 to enter, which includes lots of good prizes, a meal and a bottle of wine. All proceeds from this are donated to the two charities. Entry forms are available from the Club by calling Margaret Davenport on 01270 875700.”
Everyone at CCCE would like to say a huge thank you to Bev for choosing CCCE as her charity and raising vital funds to support carers.

Walk for Carers
Come and join us for a lovely walk around the countryside of Congleton and help us raise awareness of carers and also much needed funds to support them and the people they care for. It is a sponsored walk and we would be delighted if you are willing to raise money on our behalf but, if you would prefer, please just register and come along.
This years sponsored walk will take place on Sunday June 27 at 1pm.
Meeting and registration will be at Overton House, West Street in Congleton. The walk will then take you on a lovely route ending at Astbury Mere where a well earned afternoon tea will be provided. It is then a short stroll back to the car park. There will also be short guided walks around Astbury Mere suitable for wheelchair users or those unable to manage the walk but who would still like to come along.
This event is being run in partnership with Astbury Mere Country Park who are holding a Fun Day on the 27 June which can be enjoyed by all those taking part in the walk. Lots of activities will be taking place both on and off the water including the windsurfing, dinghy and kayak sessions, angling presentations, beat the goalie and face painting.
The Open Day is being organised by Team Astbury, Astbury Mere Trust and Cheshire East Council
