Thoughts from our volunteers

Pat Wray – Office Volunteer,  “I have worked as a volunteer at Crossroads for the last 4 years, mostly helping in the office doing general administration.  Having been involved in admin prior to retiring, it has been interesting to keep up my skills and learn new systems and to be involved in such an interesting and worthy cause.  It never ceases to amaze me the different areas covered by Crossroads and the work they do – it seems that Crossroads thinks of a new way to support carers every year.  No standing still at Crossroads.

The team are all very friendly and welcoming and, from my point of view, it is nice to be back in a work environment.  I have been allotted some specific tasks which I now do on a regular basis and at other times I help with anything from answering the phone to helping with mail shots.  I try to fit in where I can and find the input very rewarding – it’s lovely to feel useful.”
