Macclesfield High School raises funds for Young Carers
Staff and pupils at Macclesfield High School recently held a week of fundraising events to raise money to support CCCE. The students were particularly interested in raising money to support the Young Carers Project and threw themselves into fundraising with great enthusiasm, taking part in a range of activities including cake sales, a sponsored walk, ‘beat the goalie’, raffles and even a sponsored silence!
The week was a great success and the school has raised over £1,250 to support our Young Carers. This opportunity was greatly appreciated by Crossroads as it gave the opportunity to raise awareness of the issues surrounding this group of carers and ensure young people know how to access support.
Thanks to all who took part!

A group visits the Young Carers Festival 08 in Hampshire. The older group enjoyed their time in the company of over 1600 other young carers from all parts of the UK, making new friends and taking part in workshops and activity sessions. Unlike last year, the weather for the festival weekend was perfect.
This trip was supported by a generous donation from the Poynton Foundation |

A group of young carers enjoyed a luxury day out at the home of the High Sheriff of Cheshire. We were treated to a day of activities, games and fun. The High Sheriff and his friends looked after all our needs, including a wonderful meal followed by games and karaoke. The day finished with the High Sheriff and his team of friends and helpers giving us all a great send off with some Beatles classics on the karaoke! |
